“Our primary motivation for this publication is to illustrate these places where Dickens lived and about which he wrote; and this we were able to realise through Russell Burden’s superb series of original photographs, commissioned exclusively for the book”.David Wilkinson – Guerilla Books
Funded by Sky Arts and the UK Film Lottery Fund the Charles Dickens’s England book and film project required the full gamut of Nebulo’s expertise.
Location shots, both with and without the film unit was undertaken over several seasons.
Images were edited and backed up at each location as they were shot before being delivered back to our studio to be adjusted and formatted for print.
Every aspect of the design came under our studio’s responsibility…
• The book’s design and typography including the jacket.
• The books materials fine detailing such as the cloth colour, inner papers and titles ink and emboss.
• The dvd cover and on-body disc design.
• The quad poster for the opening at BAFTA, together with a promotional website and all other printed matter.
Charles Dickens’s England is the second book we designed for the client, the first being Made in Yorkshire, a comprehensive account of the history of film making in the county.
