“Nebulo are quite simply unique in the way they work. What a joy to work with a creative agency who responded so creatively to the brief”
Stevie Rice – Director, Ardent Hare
When Ardent Hare wrapped up in 2012, they came to us to design printed legacy material and produce a wall installation for their closing event. Previously known as DADA-South, Ardent Hare was a highly successful organisation that provided funding for disabled and deaf artists in the South East of England.
An illustrative scheme for the legacy brochure was proposed by our studio that eventually made its way onto the whole length of the gallery wall in the form of a flowing poem by Michael Johnson.
Taking a ‘line for a walk’ from the front cover to the back, we opted to show the journey the organisation had made, marking dominant events on the line as we went. This was translated into a 24-page, A5 booklet with inner pages that gate-folded right out to help deliver the sense of a lengthy timeline. The illustrated happy hare on the front cover eventually disappeared down a rabbit-hole, implying hibernation rather than a definitive ending. An embossed logo and loose picture layout made things feel both hand crafted and warm hearted.

For the Closing ceremony event held at the Jerwood Gallery in London we produced and installed a 12 meter poem by Michael Johnson as a flowing graphic line in vinyl.
Go Public project catalogue
We also designed the brochure for Ardent Hare’s final, multi-artist project, Go Public. This took the shape of a lovely piece of print with transparent covers and a large fold out centre.
“Nebulo are quite simply unique in the way they work. What a joy to work with a creative agency who responded so creatively to the brief, tuned into our ethos and took the time to get to know us. What came out of this process was something that we were infinitely proud of – a final brochure to celebrate all that we had achieved as Ardent Hare. This was a fitting tribute to the organisation and I was grateful for the sensitivity, care and creativity that the entire team at Nebulo brought to the process.”- Stevie Rice, Director, Ardent Hare
